Manisa Celal Bayar University Salihli Vocational School was established in 1992. The Private Security and Protection Program started its activities in the 2012-2013 academic year as i. and II. In the 2017-2018 academic year, intern education has been introduced, 3 semestercourses of 4 semesters are held in school during the 2-year period and 15 weeks and 75 days are practiced in the sector as a 1-term workplace application. The applicants who have high school or its equivalent diplomas are placed by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in accordance with the applicable legislation of Higher Education Council (YÖK). In respect to specific requirements, male applicants are to be at least 1.75 cm, and female applicants are to be at least 1.65 cm. In addition, they must obtain a medical board report from a state hospital and a document of criminal record from the nearest courthouse.

Students enrolled in the program can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the relevant committees and courses approved by Senate. Students who score 65 or more on the exemption exam are exempt from these courses.

In order to be able to receive a short cycle degree in Private Security, it is required to successfully complete all the compulsory and elective courses. The students should also have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.00 over 4.00 for graduation.

The aim of Program is to train individuals who have effective communication skills and the fundamental qualities and also who are able to use computer programs related to their field. Private Security Program provides a two-year training following high school education. 50 students are accepted to the program is the teaching of the first and second. The students are required to complete a 40-work day internship program, and required to take and successfully complete all the compulsory courses in the program. They are also required to take and successfully complete elective courses in I, II., III., and IV. Semesters as well as compulsory courses.

The graduates who successfully complete their short cycle training have the opportunity to apply to related undergraduate programs on condition that they acquire a sufficient mark from External Transfer Exam executed by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A student has to register at the beginning of the semester and has to attend at least 70% of the theoretical lessons and 80% of the practices in order to be able to enter the final exam of that particular course. The students are given at least one mid-term exam and one final exam. Except for mid-term exams quizzes, projects and other activities deemed appropriate by the instructor can be made. Note the number of activities and contribution to the success of this lesson plan is specified by the instructor. Graduation Requirements

A student has to pass all the courses (a total of 120 European Credit Transfer System, ECTS), obtain at least 2.00 GPA over 4.00, avoid FF or FD for any courses and complete the compulsory internship in order to be able to successfully complete the program.

Facilities

Education is maintained in 20 classes equipped with projection appliance for visual delivery of lectures. Salihli Vocational School has three computer labs, one library, one conference hall. A movie lounge that equipped with visual and audial technology and with standard arm-chairs is at students’ service. There is one body-building room and gym. There are spaces for club and social activities for students, as well. The department is an expert academics (police and the military origin) that military school graduate and a graduate of the police academy).
