History : Institute of Social Sciences in the Muradiye Campus started education in the fall semester of the academic year 1993-1994; based on No.41 decree law about Organization for Higher Education Institutions which was enacted on 20 July 1982.
Department of Recreation graduate program during the 2013-2014 academic year opened.
Qualification Awarded : Master's Degree in Recreation
Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) : Second Cycle
Specific Admission Requirements : 1. Having a bachelor's degree,
2. Academic Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) is equal to at least 55 points,
3. Having a score of at least 40 in the Foreign Language Examination (YDS) score or equivalent score from any of the foreign language examinations accepted by the Inter-University Board; Students who can not fulfill these conditions must obtain a minimum score of 40 from the central foreign language exam administered by the University,
4. Success grade must be at least 65. The success grade is 50% of the ALES score, 30% of the undergraduate achievement grade and 20% of the interview grade. Success scores of those who do not enter the interview are not calculated.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Students who have completed at least one semester, have not been disciplined and have succeeded in another undergraduate program of the institute or another graduate program of another higher education institution may be admitted to the postgraduate programs by horizontal transfer. Students who qualify for a transfer may be exempt from the courses they have attended in the higher education institutions they have already studied. In addition, the scientific preparatory program can be applied to make up for deficiencies in candidate students who have obtained their undergraduate or graduate degrees in different undergraduate or higher education institutions.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : The Recreation Master's Program consists of a minimum of 120 ECTS credits including a seminar course and a thesis study for a total of at least nine courses (the number specified in the student's education plan), a seminar course for the second semester and a minimum of 60 ECTS credits for an academic year . The duration of the program is four semesters, regardless of whether or not they are enrolled for each semester, beginning with the semester the course is given, with a maximum completion duration of six semesters. In the first four semesters of this course, the courses must be successfully completed. The minimum duration of the program is three semesters.
Profile of The Programme : Recreation program is applied intensive educational program in Sport Science. A training program is being implemented that integrates the field of study with an academic perspective that will enable the students to play an active role in the recreation area (sports, tourism, etc.) and in any organization.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : The graduates, academic careers in universities, can work in Youth and Sport Directorates, municipalities, fitness and sport centers, tourism sector, public training centers, universities, factories and hospitals.
Access to Further Studies : Graduates who successfully completed the Master's Degree may apply to doctorate (third cycle) programmes in the same or in related disciplines.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading :
Examinations consist of midterm, final and makeup exams. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems suitable can be done. The number of these activities and the contribution to the course grades are stated in the course plan by the teaching staff. Exams; Written, oral, written, oral or practical. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The contribution of the final exam grade to the achievement grade can not be less than 40% and not more than 60%. The assignment of letter grade intervals is carried out by the instructor. In order to be able to achieve a dersten, the letter grade must be at least CC, provided that attendance at 70% classes is maintained. Courses such as thesis work, specialized courses and seminars are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.

To be successful in defense examination prepared according to thesis writing rules
And to fulfill the conditions for delivery of the thesis and other necessary conditions for graduation.
