Candidates who will apply to the Master of Sociology Program, 1. Having a bachelor's degree, 2. Academic Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) is equal to at least 55 points in weight, 3. Taking equivalent points from any of the foreign language exams (YDS) score of at least 40 or foreign language exams approved by the Council of Universities; Students who cannot fulfill these conditions must take at least 40 points from the central foreign language examination administered by the University, 4. Success grade must be at least 65. The success grade is 50% of the ALES score, 30% of the undergraduate achievement grade and 20% of the interview grade. Success scores for those who do not enter the interview are not calculated. Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Students who have completed at least one semester, have not received disciplinary action, and have succeeded in the course of another institution of the Institute or in a postgraduate program of another higher education institution may be admitted to the postgraduate programs by horizontal transfer. Students who are entitled to a horizontal transfer may request that they be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
|

The Master of Sociology Program requires a minimum of 120 ECTS credits including a seminar and thesis study, provided that it is not less than 30 ECTS credits in an academic year. The duration of the program is four semesters, regardless of whether or not they are enrolled for each semester, beginning with the term of the course, with a maximum completion duration of six semesters. In the first four semesters of this course, the courses must be successfully completed. The minimum duration of the program is three semesters.

The Master's program of Sociology includes the departments of General Sociology and Methodology, Sociology of Institutions, Social Structure and Change and Applied Sociology. Students will be able to specialize in the field covered by these departments with the courses they will choose.

Graduates who successfully completed the Master's Degree may apply to Doctorate (third cycle) programmes in the same or in related disciplines.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
|
:
|
Examinations consist of midterm, final and makeup exams. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems appropriate can be done. The number of these activities and the contribution to the course grades are stated in the course plan by the teaching staff. Exams; Written, oral, written, oral or practical. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The contribution of the final exam grade to the achievement grade cannot be less than 40% and not more than 60%. The assignment of letter grade intervals is carried out by the instructor. In order to be able to successful in a course, the letter grade must be at least CC, provided that attendance at 70% classes is maintained. Courses such as thesis work, specialized courses and seminars are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.

Successfully pass the courses in the program within the course of success, to be successful in the thesis defense examination prepared according to the thesis writing rules, and to fulfill the conditions related to the thesis delivery and other necessary conditions for graduation.

There are 2 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professor and 4 research assistants in the department, and there are also a large number of teaching staff in other faculties, colleges and vocational schools. The institute with advanced technical equipments and the new building and in classrooms. Students can use all the printed and electronic resources of the University Library located nearby.
