MCBU Social Sciences Institute, located in Muradiye Campus, started education in the fall semester of the 1993-1994 academic year, based on the provisions of the "Decree Law No. 41 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions" that came into force on July 20, 1982. Sports Management Department Sports Management Doctorate Program was opened in 2020, and the first student admission was realized in the Fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Specific Admission Requirements

1) Having a Bachelor’s Degree. 2) Having at least 55 out of 100 in equally-weighted score type) from the Academic personnel and postgraduate education entrance exam (ALES) 3) The applicants must get at least 55 from İnternational language exams which are excepted as equivalent to the foreign language exams accepted by the council of higher education. 4) Pass mark must be at least 65. the pass mark is 50% of the ALEs score, 30% of licence graduation grade and 20% of interview grade. for those who do not enter the interview, the pass mark is not calculated. for detailed information see also: Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversity graduate education and training regulation, which is located on the website of enstitute of social sciences; special conditions in the announcements during the application period.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Students who have completed at least one semester in another department of the institute or in another graduate program of another higher education institution, who have not received disciplinary punishment and who have been successful, can be admitted to graduate programs through lateral transfer. Students who have the right to transfer can request exemption from the courses they have successfully completed in the higher education institutions they have studied before. In addition, a scientific preparation program can be applied to candidate students who have obtained their undergraduate or graduate degrees in a different field or higher education institution in order to make up for their deficiencies.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The Ph.D. program consists of a total of twenty one credits for graduate students with thesis and at least seven courses, not less than 60 ECTS in one academic year, one seminar course, proficiency exam, thesis and at least 240 ECTS credits including thesis work. Accepted students by undergraduate degree at least forty two credits for 14 courses, seminar, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and dissertation It consists of 300 ECTS credits.

The program aims to train qualified Sports Management professionals who have the expertise required by the age in their field, and who can think analytically, by providing theoretical and applied up-to-date information in the field of Sports Management.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
|
:
|
Exams consist of midterm, final and make-up exams. Apart from midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities deemed appropriate by the instructor can be done. The number of these activities and their contribution to the course grade are specified in the course plan by the instructor. Exams; It can be done in writing, orally, both in writing, orally or practically. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The contribution of the final exam grade to the success grade cannot be less than 40% or more than 60%. In order to be successful in a course, if attendance is provided with a 70% participation rate, the letter grade must be at least CC. Courses such as thesis work, specialization course and seminar are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.

Graduation Requirements

1. To be successful in thesis defense examination. 2. To provide other necessary conditions for graduation. 3. To submit at least three copies of the doctorate thesis prepared and bound in accordance with the thesis writing guide to the Institute of Social Sciences within one month from the date of entrance to the thesis defense examination.

Education in the program is carried out in the new buildings and classrooms of the Institute and Faculty of Sport Sciences, which have advanced technical equipment, in addition to the teaching staff of the Program. Students can benefit from all printed and electronic resources of the University Library located nearby.
