History of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences which is the first higher education institution of Manisa has its roots in Ege University Economics and Commercial Sciences Faculty, Manisa Accounting Associate’s Degree High School. Our School has started the education as Accounting Associate’s Degree High School; started to give undergraduate education in 1977-78 academic years as Finance Accounting Vocational School and then turned to Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty in accordance with the law no. 3389 in 1987. Our department has been accepting students since 2011-2012 academic year and the students with highest scores within the faculty are choosing our department.

Specific Admission Requirements

Admission to the faculty is arranged within the framework of Turkish Higher Education Council Law and decisions. Students are admitted to the faculty in accordance with the Higher Education Entrance Examination (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Examination results given by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) in Ankara. Documents required for the registration; 1 - High school diploma or its equivalent, 2 - Student placement examination result given by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) .

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

In our university education language is Turkish. However, the departments in which there is a preparation programs, can educate partially or completely in determinated foreign language. Preparation program is optional. Exemption exams for classes deemed appropriate for exemption by the relevant boards and a senate decision are opened at the beginning of the year. Students are expected to take 65 or higher in order to be exempted from the courses.

Profile of The Programme

The main goals of the education in public administration are to raise students who work for the state in the field or central service, in local administration, in administrative judicial authorities, in policy areas. Our aim is to teach them to research, to analyze the problems and suggest solutions from different aspects, to give them comparative tendency in the area of international politics. Those who want to study in this area, have to be able to reflect his or her ideas clearly in political, economic, social and legal subjects. Our undergraduate education will be maintained around these goals. Our department, which has a must intern program on the eighth semester, is planning to give students ability for analytical thinking, entrepreneurship, to approach critically to the phenomena, and to work in accordance with the ethical values

A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration can lead to a career of district governor, diplomat, judge etc. They can be public officers and government executives in various cadres of bureaucracy and can work for cadres of the private sector as managers

Access to Further Studies

Upon successful completion of undergraduate degree, candidates may study graduate programs on condition that they get a sufficient grade in ALES (Examination for Postgraduate Study and Academic Staff) EA test, take a undergratuate degree which is determined by Social Sciences Institute and have sufficient level of English language skills.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

For each courses, there will be one mid term and final examination. Except these examinations, projects and quizzes can be made by instructors. The rating for these activities will be indicated in the course schedule. Midterm has %40 and final examination has %60 weight in grade ranking. Pass grade is CC. For students who have GPA at least 2.00, DC and DD is enough to pass the courses. In order to graduate from the program, students are expected to have 2.00 GPA even though they don’t have an unsuccessful course.

Our departments use some of the classrooms in the buildings of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and there are two fully equipped computer rooms shared with other departments as well. There are smart boards and projectors in some classrooms. Students can benefit from the database of the library and through exchange programs such as Erasmus, Mevlana and Farabi, students can study at universities that we have bilateral agreements. In our department there are 4 Associate Professors, 1 Assistant Professor, 6 Research Assistants
