History : Salihli Vocational School of Manisa Celal Bayar University was founded in 1992 to give two-year education. Department of Computer Technology and Programming started its evening education in association with Salihli Industrial Vocational School and within the scope of METEB project in 2002-2003 academic year.With a decision by YOK, the name of the department was changed as Computer Programming in 2009- 2010 academic year. Our programme has started the intern education system by the 2016-2017 education term. Our students attend 4.term in sector practicing and be able to get ready to working life.

Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) : Pre Bachelor
Specific Admission Requirements : The students accepted to the department of Computer Programming need to have graduated from the related departments of vocational high schools (Computer Software, Computer Hardware, Computer Operator, Computer Operating Techinician, Information Technologies and Computer). Also, students graduated from vocational high schools those who have graduated from state school having the required TYT points and placed by ÖSYM can register to the program according to the OSYM's calendar.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Formal. Students enrolled in the program can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the relevant committees and courses approved by Senate. Students who score 65 or more on the exemption exam are exempt from these courses.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : To successfully complete the program, they can graduate on condition that they pass all the courses available in the program (120 ECTS credits), obtain a weighted average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 and complete compulsory internships.
Profile of The Programme : The Department of Computer Programming aims to educate “Computer Programmers” with analytical thinking skills who will work in the field of “IT” and individuals who can use their knowledge and skills easily in the companies they work for with ethic sensibility. And to be able to keep up with the advances in technology.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Our graduates can work for computer software, hardware, informatics and finance organizations, in business including large and middle-scaled computer units, for the project designing of information technology and infrastructure, configuration and management of municipalities, hospitals and similar state organizations, technical services, software and web designing companies. Graduates can work as technicians, technical support expert, system expert, sales expert,software expert and middle manager. Besides, they can set up sales, service, software and hardware companies in their own fields by their own means.
Access to Further Studies : Our graduates pass the VTE of 4-year faculties in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer and Instructional Technologies Teaching, Information Systems Engineering, Information Systems and Technologies, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Physics Engineering, Statistics, Statistics and Computer Sciences, Control and Automation Engineering, Mathematics. and Computer Sciences, Meteorology Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems Undergraduate Programs.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : There is at least one midterm exam for each course. Students are assessed whether they are successful in the courses they take or not in two stages, one midterm and one final exam. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems suitable can be done. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated in the course plan by the instructor. When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. In order for a student to be considered a successful dersten, he must obtain CC as a minimum grade. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduate.
Graduation Requirements : A student has to pass all the courses (a total of 120 ACTS), obtain at least 2.00 GPA over 4.00, avoid FF or FD for any courses and complete the compulsory internship in order to be able to successfully complete the program.

Facilities : In the Computer Programming program, our courses are held in computer laboratories equipped with new technologies, using the most up-to-date programs, with our academic staff who have industry experience, mainly on project and homework applications. In our program, as of the 2016-2017 academic year, the Vocational Education system in Business has been passed, and the students are prepared for working life by spending the entire 4th semester in the business within the scope of Vocational Education in Business.
