History : Celal Bayar University, Alaşehir Vocational Training School 1986 Education and teaching started in the Aegean University. ! It was tied to Manisa Celal Bayar University in 1992., Landscape and Ornamental Applications Program started education in 2001-2002 Academic Year.
Qualification Awarded : Associate Degree in Landscape and Ornamental Plants
Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) : Pre Bachelor
Specific Admission Requirements : Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and the score of the Higher Education Institutions Examination by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement, which has a score of sufficient score, indicates that they are placed in the relevant department.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Students enrolled in the program can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the relevant committees and courses approved by Senate. Students who score 65 or more on the exemption exam are exempt from these courses.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : To complete the program successfully, pass all the courses available in the program (120 ECTS credits), to get a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and to be successful in sectoral training applications
Profile of The Programme : Profile of the program is to train qualified work force who will take part in landscape architectures and landscaping works and their application processes, who can calculate cost and footage and also participate in the production, marketing and application of plant material.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : They can work in the construction and architecture branches of public organizations such as Forestry, Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Institutions, Provincial Bank, Agricultural Research Institute, Municipalities, Nurseries and private companies. This profession is suitable for someone who wants to build or operate your own company. A small capital and environmental plan can open an office that provides periodic maintenance and renovation services, or can produce and sell plants during nurseries.
Access to Further Studies : External transfer to other programs like Landscaping Architecture, Plant Production, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, Cultivated Plants Production and Marketing and Forest Engineering.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : There is at least one midterm exam for each course. Students are assessed whether they are successful in the courses they take or not in two stages, one midterm and one final exam. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems appropriate can be done. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated in the course plan by the instructor. When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. In order for a student to be considered a successful dersten, he must obtain CC as a minimum grade. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduate.
